My Baby Brother Garrett Graduates

Garrett and Me at his graduation.

So my brother has a salt preference, whereas I'm a sweet tooth. So figuring he doesn't really cake, I was prepared to made another celebratory creation for his party. But when I asked him what he'd want instead, he replied he WANTED a cake. And not just any cake, but a Pontiac logo cake, as if he's already put thought into it and wasn't taking no for an answer. This is the most complicated cake I had made since my brother Aaron graduated two years before.

Adding the marshmallow fondant. It's a quick and easy recipe I use, plus the little ones tend to enjoy this sweeter version more than a traditional fondant.

The graduate and his final cake. He never cut it that day. He wanted to keep it...

Thankfully my mom had made vanilla cupcakes to put out so our guests didn't have to miss out. My childhood friend Michelle stopped by to help me decorate them in all of Garrett's favorite candies. Thanks Michelle!
