Frugal Frosting in July

I didn't use all the frosting I made for my trip to Virginia- So I had to leave a little something for my roommates to enjoy. The night before, Mike and I had made S'mores brownies, so I used those to some off.

All the Sweets, You Shouldn't Eat

When my Pepere passed this year, it was decided he'd be buried at Arlington National Cemetery for his commitment and dedication to both the United States Air Force and Army. 

My Pepere was also, if not more committed to his sweet tooth, forget diabetes. That's why, when all our family met up from various ends of the country at the end of June, I thought cupcakes would be a cheerful way to remember Pepere for his favorite sweets; coconut, chocolate, PB, and strawberries.

A Girl's Best Friend (June cont'd)

Now I'm not usually one for pink, but when it's the only color this awesome cupcake carrier comes in, you suck it up. This is my brand new 3 shelved carrier!!! Isn't it fantastic!!! I lent it to a friend to bring some baked goods along to a work event, and am using it to carry these cupcakes to Virginia!

A Green Goodbye

One of my roommates was finishing up her co-op position and requested a cake to bring in on her last day. She worked in the 'maps and something or other' section of City Hall. Everyone at the office loved it! 

The problem I envisioned in planning, was carving sheet cakes into a round sphere...

But Wilton didn't let me down- they make a sports ball pan set that I found on Amazon. I used cardboard and skewers for supports so it wouldn't go rolling away in transport.

Jam Packed June

Pentagram cupcakes?!!? I baked these to go with the cake below for a concert at my boyfriend's house. Again, I had to work, so I sent sweets in my place. Robyn helped to frost these, a 'mermaid blue', as we couldn't stand making cupcakes so 'dark'...

On a prettier note...

I got bored the day I made this- I remember I sat and practiced fondant flowers forever- so long in fact, that when Mike came to pick me up for dinner I was still in my pajamas at the kitchen table, fondant in hand.
